Pastor Willy's Blog - Complete Post
First things...Welcome to November. This is a significant and busy month at Calvary and there are some great opportunities for you to connect and grow in faith.
Missions Month...Every November we take the entire month to highlight missions. Simply put, ministry is what we do inside Calvary, missions is what we do outside of Calvary. The first three weekends in November we will highlight all the opportunities for you to get involved in missions at Calvary. There are four major areas of missions involvement and each area involves local, national and international projects. Whether you attend our Clearwater or East Lake campus, check out the displays, talk to missions volunteers and begin praying now about how you will answer God’s call to go.
I’ll be teaching this month from Luke 10:1-20 and the title of the series is Send Me. God wants to use you to advance His kingdom and we’re praying that God will stir your heart to say send me.
Remember, this is also the perfect month to make a generous commitment to Calvary’s World Missions Offering. All money given goes directly to fund mission causes as diverse as our Florida Baptist Children’s Home to our missionaries serving around the world.
The Florida Baptist Convention will be held at Calvary from November 13-15. The meeting starts Sunday night, the 13th and runs all day on the 14th and 15th. The evening sessions on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night are filled with wonderful music and powerful preaching. Plan to attend as many of those as you can. On Tuesday night I’ll be preaching the convention message followed by Dr. Johnny Hunt of the First Baptist Church in Woodstock. Our team will be leading in worship and, of all the nights, I especially hope our Calvary family will turn out Tuesday night and pack the house for an incredible night of worship. You can check out details of the lineup at http://flbaptist.org/florida-baptist-state-convention-clearwater/ and http://www.flbpc.net/schedule/ . All of the meetings are open to everyone. If you’re interested in volunteering to help serve during the convention, e-mail Amanda Stanton at email@example.com
Discover Calvary at East Lake ...I’ll be returning to our East Lake campus this Sunday night, November 6th for Discover Calvary. If you’re new at Calvary or just want to take the next step in your spiritual journey and your journey at Calvary, make plans to attend this seminar. You can check out the details here http://www.calvary.us/discovercalvary .
Thanksgiving will be here soon and you will want to mark your calendar for the Lord’s Supper service on Sunday night November 20th at 6:00, both campuses. It is the perfect service to begin Thanksgiving week and the holiday season.
Calvary Reformation500 Tour coming in 2017...Next year is the 500th anniversary of the events that launched the Protestant Reformation. Next September, Cheryl and I are leading a tour through Germany and through some of the most significant events in Christian history. We would love to have you come with us. Find out more information at www.calvary.us/reformation500 .
These are special days as we move toward the end of the year and the holidays. We’ll be welcoming back many of our winter guests each weekend. Construction accelerates on our new Athletic Center at our Clearwater campus and plans are moving forward with our Seminole/Madeira Beach campus opening in early 2017. In this Thanksgiving season I’m grateful to God for you and grateful for the privilege of serving as your pastor.
