You’ve Got Questions?

We understand that it may take a while for you to get to know Calvary, and you may have many questions beyond your first visit. Below you’ll find a few of the most frequently asked questions that provide insight into what it means to go deeper in your faith and belong to a community of people seeking dynamic life.

Q. What is GroupLife and how can I join?

Some things are better in groups. We believe that people who are connected in a community group learn to become more like Jesus. A community group is simply a small group of people who meet together to build friendships, community and pursue spiritual growth together. These groups are places where friendships are formed, burdens are shared, and the real work of the church is accomplished.

Q. Why is Discover Calvary Seminar so important?

The Discover Calvary Seminar will introduce you to Calvary. This class will answer many of your questions, like how to become a member at Calvary, how to define your relationship with God, and how to grow in your faith.

Q. What is baptism and why is it important?

Baptism is the biblical way to tell the people around you that you believe Jesus died on the cross as a penalty for your sin, and that you accept and trust Him for your forgiveness. Jesus wants us and even encourages us to let others know about our decision to follow Him. Biblical baptism is by immersion and occurs after we make a personal and private commitment to follow Jesus Christ.

Q. How can I know I have a relationship with God?

Having a relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important relationship you will ever have. Here is a simple acrostic that will explain how you can begin a personal relationship with Christ and know that you have eternal life that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Jesus said “I have come that they may have life.” (John 10:10a)

Love – God loves you and wants you to enjoy a personal relationship with Him.
Isolation – You are separated from God because of your sin.
Forgiveness – Jesus died on the cross and rose again to pay the penalty for your sin so you can experience complete forgiveness and eternal life.
Eternal Life – When you place your trust in Jesus, you receive the gift of eternal life.
