First Things-December 1
First Things from Pastor Willy – December 1
The holiday season has arrived! Let me be among the first to wish you Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas. It is always a joyful time of the year, yet also one where people with great needs need to hear the good news of the Gospel. Let’s make the most of these days.
In November, we experienced an incredible climax to our X150 Advance initiative. We have very good news to share and I can’t wait to share it with you. Next Sunday, December 8th, we will be able to share with you a total amount committed over the next three years through X150 Advance and a preliminary number on our Firstfruits Offering. Everything given through the end of the year and designated to our X150 Advance initiative will count as our Firstfruits Offering.
If you have not made a commitment yet, would you consider helping us advance the kingdom through our x150 vision? There is one more week before I publicly share the total commitment, and I would very much like to include you in this historic step of faith. You can still make your commitment here and make your gifts to x150 Advance here.
Speaking of next Sunday, December 8th, that evening at 6:00 pm at our Clearwater campus is our members’ meeting, also known as our Church Conference. We will share our ministry spending plan for 2020 and give even more details regarding our x150 results. There are some other business matters to attend to that require congregational approval, so please plan to attend and participate in this annual meeting.
Of course, Christmas at Calvary is always something special. Today, December 1st, we began a new Christmas message series entitled Loved. For four weeks, we will be teaching from John 3:16 as we share the meaning of Christmas and the greatest news of all. It’s a perfect time of year to invite someone to attend.
As in the past, there are several special Christmas events you will not want to miss.
The Calvary Worship Team and Choir under the direction of Brad Noblitt presents “Jesus You Alone: Christmas at Calvary” on Saturday, December 14th at 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 15th at 6:00 pm. It is a great time for all three campuses to come together in celebration of our Savior. We look forward to an evening of Christmas worship and celebration with you!
Our Candlelight Christmas Eve services are always one of the highlights of the Christmas seasons. Here is the Christmas Eve schedule for all three campuses:
Clearwater: December 23 at 6:00pm; December 24 at 3:00pm, 4:30pm, and 6:00pm
East Lake: December 24 at 3:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:00pm
Seminole: December 24 at 4:30pm and 6:00pm
Make your plans now to put Jesus first this Christmas season and join us at Calvary for one of these special events. Christmas is proof that you are loved by God Himself. Come experience and celebrate His love with us this Christmas.
