First Things from Pastor Willy – November 1

These are momentous days for our nation, but also for our church. I know you will join me in praying for our nation as we approach Election Day after this tumultuous time. This week I am claiming the truth affirmed by Daniel long ago,

…the Most High is ruler over human kingdoms. He gives them to anyone he wants.

    Daniel 4:17, CSB

Please do your part. Pray and vote. Then we put our trust in the Lord, who will still be sovereign over all when Wednesday morning dawns. Our hope is set on Christ alone.

While the nation emerges from this election season and we all continue to deal with this season of COVID-19, God is at work and this coming month will be a special, even historic, time at Calvary.

First, it is our month to emphasize our mission. Our x150 vision, the vision to multiply by 150 churches by 2025, is our strategic vision that drives our focus and mission. This month we will highlight what has been done and what is being done. Our theme for the month is Our City…Our Mission and we have some very exciting things to highlight each Sunday. Click here for a special calendar of events and take advantage of every opportunity you can!

For our East Lake campus, the month has finally arrived! Sunday, November 22 will be our first Sunday worshipping in our new facility. We have an open house on Saturday, November 21 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.  There will also be a number of events coming up during the Christmas season and even after the New Year to celebrate the opening of our new East Lake building and invite others to attend.

On Sunday night, November 22 at 6:00 on all 3 of our campuses, Clearwater, East Lake and Seminole, we will hold our special Night of Prayer for our city and Communion service to mark the season of Thanksgiving and begin this holiday period.

More people are returning to in-person worship each week. We are still trying to practice normal precautions and follow local guidelines to provide for safe environments for those who choose to attend. Others are still staying connected with us online each week. Regardless, I pray you stay safe and well and celebrate the goodness of God with us this month at Calvary.
