It’s Just a Phase

Hey, Calvary family. Welcome to the “It’s Just a Phase” website. The goal of the materials you’ll find here is for you to be able to teach and disciple your children. In the book of Proverbs, we are told “Teach a youth about the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Parents, we want you to know you’re supported. It’s not our goal for you to simply drop your kids off at a student ministry event, but rather to give you realistic resources to help you guide your kids as followers of Christ.

Kids don’t come with instruction manuals, and we are not all Bible scholars — we all do, however, have time in our day to “Talk about [God’s Word] when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up . . .” as instructed in the book of Deuteronomy. The “It’s Just a Phase” materials below are practical and simple ways to speak truth into your kids’ lives. They also provide information to help you understand the timelines of mental and physical maturity – even at what points your kids stop looking to you for advice and begin seeking influences from friends and sources outside your home.

This is not here to burden you with more work, or more “to do’s” that will fill up your already busy schedules. These tools are designed to be included in the everyday rhythms of your life. Use this at your convenience, and if you have questions, contact us directly- we’ll do everything we can to help answer the questions you have about discipling your kids. We hope this material is a blessing to you and your family as we grow together and continue to build relationships to bring people [and families] to dynamic life in Christ.
