    Dear Parents,

As we close out 2018, we are going to focus on “Christ at the center of Christmas”. For some of us it has been a great year, while others may have a the toughest year of their lives. No matter the kind of year we’ve had or even what kind of year we are about to walk into, one thing is true. Jesus should be the center of it all. Take a moment through this last month of the year and refocus your time, your choices, your thoughts, your goals to be centered around Jesus and nothing else. While we highlight that Jesus, the Christ, is the center of Christmas, is Jesus the center of your life? We are looking forward to the next two weeks as we close out the Student Ministry calendar with you all.

    Upcoming Events and News:

    • Night of Hope – There are groups of students from the Clearwater Campus and the East Lake Campus that will be headed to the Night of Hope event this Sunday Night at Tropicana Field. If you are planning to attend touch base with Matt Gibney for the 8th  group at Clearwater and Kennon Wiley for the High School group East Lake.
      • East Lake Students meet at the East Lake Campus at 2PM to ride to Night of Hope. Bring money for concessions.
      • Clearwater Students meet at the SMC at 4PM to carpool to Night of Hope. Bring money for concessions.

    • Teen to Teen Drive – One of our Clearwater high school girls’ groups decided to start a Christmas gift drive called Teen to Teen. We are collecting Christmas gifts for teenagers to donate to Metropolitan Ministries. Oftentimes we think about little children that are in need at Christmas which leads us to many times forget that there are teenagers in our community that may have nothing for Christmas as well. If you and your family would like to donate gifts for teenagers, bring by your items to the Gymnasium on Sundays and the Student Center on Wednesdays.

    • COLLIDE Early Bird Pricing – COLLIDE Weekend 2019 is going to be February 16-17, but if you register by the end of this year, you will save $20. The early bird pricing is $45 (if you have multiple students contact our office for discounted rates). This is our biggest weekend of the year, and this year it is an off campus retreat. Register today at www.calvary.us/COLLIDE

    • Christmas Night 2018 – Wednesday Night, December 12th, will be our last Calvary Students’ Gathering of the year. We will have a great time of fellowship, worship, and partying for all students at each of our campuses. We hope that you will celebrate Christmas with us and invite some friends to come hang out before exams begin.

    • High School Christmas Party – Friday, December 14th, Clearwater High School students will gather at the Student Center for a night of caroling and partying from 6:30-9:30PM.  East Lake High School students will gather at the East Lake Campus for a night of caroling and partying from 6:30-9:30PM.

    • Metropolitan Ministries Serve Day – East Lake Campus High School students are invited to join us on December 16th to head to Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa to help serve for the Christmas season. We will be leaving the East Lake Campus at 1PM and returning at 7PM. Register Here.

Regardless of the campus you attend, we know that you heard a powerful message from God’s Word and how it applies in your lives. We hope that through this series, we will be able to see how Christ is at the center of Christmas and longs to be at the center of your life. We hope to see you with us this Christmas Season.
