There are over 100 million orphans worldwide. Our call as the Church is to care for the orphan (James 1:27). Calvary supports families who choose to be obedient to the call God has placed on their lives to adopt a child and provide a forever, loving home.

There are several avenues to adopt a child:

  • International Adoption
  • Domestic/Private Adoption
  • Child Welfare System Adoption (children currently in foster care who are eligible for adoption)

Our heart as a church is to support families along the journey in any way we can — from prayer, to diapers, to meals, to grants, to a supportive adoption community!

There are several opportunities to get involved depending on your interests and availability.

  • Kids Beach Club: KBC is a fun and free afterschool Bible club for 3rd through 5th graders and a great way to build relationships and serve families and schools in our community! It meets for 1 hour once a week during the school year.
  • Mentoring: If you have the heart to invest in a child’s life and have 30 minutes a week you can be a mentor.  You just need to be a good listener! Mentors are needed for elementary, middle, and high school students.
  • Classroom Volunteers: Volunteers play a huge role in supporting teachers right in their classroom! You may be asked to lead a small group, help with projects, run class celebrations, or be a guest reader. Each classroom and teacher has unique needs that they would love for you to be a part of.

Guardian ad Litem volunteers are essential assets to the precious children that find themselves in the child welfare system at no fault of their own. There is such high turnover rates of professionals in the dependency system that often a child’s Guardian ad Litem is the most consistent adult advocating for their needs and interests within the court system.

As a volunteer, you have the special responsibility of getting to know the child or children you are assigned to. This means visiting them at school or at home and learning about their desires or wishes. You then assist in informing the judge of the child’s interests and advocate for their wellbeing.

Every week our amazing team of volunteers works together to serve over 200 families in our community.

1 in 4 children and 1 in 6 adults in our area do not have consistent access to this basic necessity.  Every month, many families have to choose between paying for rent or paying for groceries. While providing healthy, nutritious food is one priority, it is not our main goal.  Our main goal is to make disciples and provide opportunities for our volunteers to demonstrate compassion, share the love of Jesus, and proclaim the hope of the Gospel!

9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Distribute food to clients

Fridays
9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Distribute food to clients

There are many hurdles facing foster and adoptive parents.  The journey facing these families is not one to be walked alone.  Our goal at Calvary is to walk alongside our foster and adoptive families and provide the care and support they need to parent the precious children in their care well.  This can include providing meals, prayer support, help around the house or yard, and much more!

Every day in the Tampa Bay area, 9 children are removed from their homes due to neglect, abuse, or abandonment. These children desperately need the hope of the Gospel in their lives.

There is a severe shortage of foster homes in our community. Calvary is committed to raising up and supporting foster families in this mission to bring the light of Christ to the dark corners of the reality of foster care. We believe the Church is the solution.

There are many needs right here in our own neighborhoods that go unseen and Calvary wants to play a part in meeting those needs.

Calvary Cares encompasses serving opportunities throughout the year. Some of these opportunities may include yard work, handyman needs, neighborhood clean-ups, school campus projects, etc.
